The Bless Network is a Christian mission agency based in the UK and working across the continent of Europe.
The Christian churches of Europe have a long and complex history. Large and looming in every Town Square and on every street corner, their remnant buildings are all too often empty - an uninviting relic of Europe's 'Christian past'.
But what of our continent's future? Is there still a place for the vibrant, organic faith-movement that gave birth to these buildings? Does the future of Europe have a church?
The Bless Network exists to say yes. We believe that the Christian faith has as much mileage for our future as it has had in our past: that it is a living faith with treasures yet to offer.
Working with church groups in the UK, France, the Netherlands, Croatia and beyond, our aim is to 'live for others' - to live lives that 'bless' the places in which we find ourselves. In practise this means four distinct goals:
1. To call individuals to 'live for others'; making lifestyle choices that will 'bless' those around them, and particularly those in greatest need.
2. To challenge the Christians of larger, more established churches to 'bless' the Christians of smaller, struggling congregations in pioneer mission settings, sharing their time, energy and resources with them.
3. To resource and equip these missional congregations as they seek to 'bless' the communities in which they are found, connecting with God's mission of love and mercy in their own culture and context.
4. To pray, in all this, towards a vision of Europe as a Continent that can once more 'bless' the world: exporting not consumerism and indulgence but the radical love of Christ.
The Bless Network offers opportunities to pursue these purposes through four programme areas:
Heart2Bless trips, taking weekend teams to engage in creative, passionate, focussed prayer in significant missional settings.
Go2Bless missions, working alongside local congregations in children's, youth and adult activities aimed at extending their missional impact in their own local community.
Year2Bless placements, offering young adults the opportunity to spend 3, 6 or 9 months working with a local, missional congregation and at the same time pursuing a personal programme of study and development.
Connect2Bless, enabling individuals, families, groups and congregations in the UK and beyond to engage through prayer, action and giving in Christian mission for the continent of Europe.
Bless has active projects in: Normandy, Northern France; Perpignan, Southern France; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Pozega, Croatia; Slavonski Brod, Croatia.
